What The Summer Vacation Is Like In Jamaica

Party on the beach - Jamaica
The expression in the Title translates to:- On the River, On the River Bank. Meaning exactly what it says, At the river and at the river side.
**********************************
Jamaica is the land of wood and water. Surrounded by the Caribbean sea with rivers, water falls and ponds. We find unique ways to spend the summer, which is almost twelve months long, by rafting, surfing, cookouts and much more. Summer in Jamaica is fun, for twelve months.........
There are different rules for different people. The super wealthy will send their kids abroad to spend the summer in Orlando or with some relative. The not so super rich will party day and night spending the time in hotels or at some other not to rich (yet very much so) friends house in the 'Hills'.
For those of us who cant afford the rich lifestyle we find ways to have fun, water fun.
There are several things we do and places we go, both day and night, in order to keep form getting bored during the summer time.
Spring Break 2011
Jamiacan Style Beach Party
Jamaica is not only the land of wood and water but 'party' country. Every night there is something going on somewhere and on many occasions way into the day. There are parties that run several days and nights.
There is the typical beach party. many of you have heard of and even attended one. Have you ever been to a Jamaican beach party. Take a look at the videos to get an idea of what I'm talking about. One video is of a regular beach party and the other is spring break.
Pool Party Time
Another great way to cool down in the Jamaica Summer heat is to have pool parties. These can either be kiddies or adult parties.
Onje thing abot Jmaica is that there is always dancing and/or live entertainment.
Here in this video children are enjoying themselves at a pool party. As you can see it is not a real swimming pool but one of those plastic ones.
The River Bank
One of the most popular ways to enjoy the summer is at the river. Catching shrimp, fish and having a cook-out at the river side is most affordable and fun.
Rivers in Jamaica are domesticated scene for washing clothes, bathing and cookouts otherwise known as "running a boat".
Families and friends often gather at the deep hole (a special pool in the river where the water is deeper, deep enough for swimming and diving). The food is often caught right there in the river. Eels, fish and shrimp is often cooked with boiled bananas, dumplings, roasted breadfruit or yams. On rare occasions rice is the preferred staple. Sometimes, what we call an 'all-in-one' might be the dish of the day. All-in-one is a popular one pot meal made with coconut milk, yams and dumplings. In most cases salted cod fish is used but river shrimp is also a tasty substitute.

I've never been to Jamaica, but I am more familiar with her and Peurto Rico (also not been) than any other islands in the Atlantic Ocean because of their cultures.
