Reggae Hero and Legend Bob Marley One Love Lyrics
68
A little about the Reggae Legend
Robert Nesta Marley was born in the parish of St. Ann on February 6, 1945. He came to Trench Town Kingston as a youngster where his dream as a musician was realized. He was a poor youth who struggled to voice his lyrics to the world and would spend many years struggling to do so.
Bog Marley made reggae famous and is still the most popular and famed reggae artiste of all times. Bob Marley is a passport as many people who have never heard of Jamaica have heard of Bob Marley.
Many commercials and movies have featured this song, by far this is one of the most beautiful and unity friendly songs ever written.
His song "One Love" was was named the song of the millennium by the British Broadcasting Commission and also named as the best Jamaican song for the past 50 years. This song is so well known around the world that it is also dubbed as the Reggae anthem.

One Love / People Get Ready lyrics - BOB MARLEY
About the Lyrics (My analysis)
In a time when political violence threatened to separate our nation. A time when racial segregation was prominent not only in Jamaica but throughout the world, Bob sought to bring peace and unity to Jamaica and by extension to the world.
As the song states "One love, One heart, let's get together and feel alright", Bob wanted his fellow human being to know that we all possess the heart of God and of good and if we united and enjoyed and respect each other we could make our existence here a little better.
The song goes on to say that we should "give thanks and praise to the Lord, and I will feel alright, lets get together and feel alright". When we are hungry, depressed and sad, being alone does make it feel worse than it actually is, but when we put out heads and hands together we can support each other emotionally and physically. It's like forming a support group of people who are experiencing the same thing.
The "Holy Armagiddyon" (Armageddon) that he speaks of is likened unto a holy warfare that the bible also speaks of. On a daily basis we fight spiritual warfare and pestilences here on earth.
In the song he also pleads with us to "have pity on those whose chances grow thinner". A statement that asserts compassion. He pleads with us as human beings not to turn our backs on the less fortunate and the weak. This statement is also a plea to our politicians not to ignore the poor in society.
"One Heart"! May be interpreted as One God, One People, One Nation, One Race. No matter your interpretation, the truth is still we all have One Creator and he blew the same breath into all of us, so we carry around a part of Him around. We are all children of God and we need to show it.
This is a humanitarian song and it is a song that can be song by anyone, anywhere. This song teaches kindness and compassion. Unity and Love.
Peace be to you all!

Tonight my horizons have been widened, Cardisa. I'm sorry to admit I don't know "one Love." I have heard of Bob Marley though, and I recognized several people in that video, but what about that charming little girl? She would be all grown up now...should I know her? Thanks Cardisa!
Hey, so here is the hub refurbished. I remeber you posting this originally but didn't read until it wasn't there. Wonderful.
Bob Marley was one of those spectacular spots of light in the darkness that made life worth living. He was more than just a man he was a spirit of hope and love that entered our lives and then it seemed just as quick he was gone. But he left us his treasure of music. Thank you Bob and Cardisa, Peter
Hi Cardisa...Thank you for reminding me of a song That has been too long off my radar. Oddly enough...as soon as I "refreshed" my screen and your hub came up...I just felt relaxed that there was a Bob Marley hub out and about. I am, however, quite weird. Voted Up, beautiful, and interesting!

..can't believe I missed this one Miss C - I saw the 'man' back in 1978 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto and then later on at the Copa, a much smaller club with my lovely Jamaican girlfriend Christine (and I think I was the only 'white' guy in the club - lol lol) and we saw Bob's band The Wailers with his wife Rita (years after his death, but believe me his spirit was still there) ....so you must know I love this man, his music, his words, his philosophy but more importantly I love your words Miss C - you are my hub queen , no doubt about it!!!!

I love this song! When I was about 15 I got the Greatest Hits album (Legend). They are all great songs with inspirational lyrics. Buffalo Soldier, Stir It Up...My favorite was Redemption Song. Ah, heck I still love all the songs! I even got to see Damien Marley in Providence, RI! Thanks for the nostalgia!
