One Love lyrics

Chorus

One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right
Hear the children crying (One love)
Hear the children crying (One heart)
Sayin', "Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Sayin', "Let's get together and feel all right."
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

Verse 1

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One love)
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own?
Believe me

"Chorus here"

Verse 2

Let's get together to fight this Holy Armageddon (One love)
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (One song)
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation

Sayin', "One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right."
I'm pleading to mankind (One love)
Oh, Lord (One heart) Whoa.

"Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Let's get together and feel all right. (Repeat)

About Bob Marley

Robert Nesta Marley was born in the parish of St. Ann on February 6, 1945. He came to Trench Town Kingston as a youngster where his dream as a musician was realized. He was a poor youth who struggled to voice his lyrics to the world and would spend many years struggling to do so.

Bob has written many songs and most of them are known worldwide. Many of his songs have been on the Billboard and many charts around the world including "One Love".

Bog Marley made reggae famous and is still the most popular and famed reggae artist of all times. Bob Marley is a passport as many people who have never heard of Jamaica have heard of Bob Marley.

Many commercials and movies have featured this song, by far this is one of the most beautiful and unity friendly songs ever written.

His song "One Love" was named the song of the millennium by the British Broadcasting Commission and also named as the best Jamaican song for the past 50 years. This song is so well known around the world that it is also dubbed as the Reggae anthem.

Bob Marley Interview

About the Lyrics (My analysis)

In a time when political violence threatened to separate our nation. A time when racial segregation was prominent not only in Jamaica but throughout the world, Bob sought to bring peace and unity to Jamaica and by extension to the world.

As the song states "One love, One heart, let's get together and feel alright", Bob wanted his fellow human beings to know that we all possess the heart of God and of good, and if we united, enjoyed and respected each other we could make our existence here a little better.

The song goes on to say that we should "give thanks and praise to the Lord, and I will feel alright, lets get together and feel alright". When we are hungry, depressed and sad, being alone makes the situation it appear worse than it actually is, but when we put out heads and hands together we can support each other emotionally and physically. It's like forming a support group of people who are experiencing the same thing.

The "Holy Armagiddyon" (Armageddon) that he speaks of is likened unto a holy warfare that the bible also speaks of. On a daily basis we fight spiritual warfares and pestilences here on earth. It is also likened unto the fight for human rights and freedoms as well.

In the song he also pleads with us to "have pity on those whose chances grow thinner". A statement that asserts compassion. He pleads with us as human beings not to turn our backs on the less fortunate and the weak. This statement is also a plea to our politicians not to ignore the poor in society.

"One Heart"! May be interpreted as One God, One People, One Nation, One Race. No matter your interpretation, the truth is still we all have One Creator and he blew the same breath into all of us, so we carry around with us a part of Him. We are all children of God and we need to show it.

This is a humanitarian song and it is a song that can be sung by anyone, anywhere. This song teaches kindness and compassion. Unity and Love.

Peace be to you all!
